Flight Simulator

A flight simulator, in general, should create conditions and stresses of pitch and roll as faithful as possible to reality.

Initially, flight simulators were made with the use of pneumatic actuators that could not achieve near-to-real conditions, due to the objective limitations related to the use of compressed air.

Setec supplies solutions for electric actuators complete with brushless motor and its servo drive, keeping the bores (diameter 50 mm) and the ISO attacks to possibly reuse the mechanical structure previously designed for the pneumatic actuators.

The actuators which have been used for the application are n. 3 - ISOMOVE IM 50 10 R1: 2 BSH MS 00702 P SP version, delayed with 1:2 reduction ratio to take advantage of the characteristics and dynamics of the brushless motor attached to the screw ball. The rides provided are for 300 and 450 mm.

The solution with ISOMOVE electric actuators has confirmed all the advantages envisaged such responsiveness to the commands set, the high acceleration values possible and the absolute lack of those phenomena of "springing" which were present in the pneumatic solution.
